Nike Is Giving Its Futuristic Foamposite Sneaker a Carbon Fiber Upgrade in All-Black

Nike Is Giving Its Futuristic Foamposite Sneaker a Carbon Fiber Upgrade in All-Black

After bringing back the Air Flightposite in a sleek “Triple Black” colorway, Nike Sportswear is diving into its Foamposite archive for another dark and upgraded look.

According to sneaker insiders @zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, the Nike Air Foamposite One is getting a “Carbon Fiber” makeover, bringing a fresh twist to the iconic silhouette. Set to arrive in a Black/Black/Dark Smoke Gray color scheme, early mock-ups suggest a nearly blacked-out upper with a translucent rubber outsole. But the real standout feature? A carbon fiber-inspired finish on the Foamposite shell.

Just a heads-up—what you’re seeing in early leaks is a speculative mock-up, not an official image from Nike.

A First for the Foamposite One

While Nike has played with carbon fiber-inspired designs before, this is the first time the Air Foamposite One will get the treatment. The 2014 Air Flightposite came in an all-black “Carbon Fiber” look, bringing back an original 1999 colorway. And in 2017, Nike released a Metallic Silver Foamposite Pro featuring a carbon fiber finish—but this 2025 version will be the first to bring the look to the Foamposite One.

For longtime Foamposite fans, this release is something that’s been wished for, and now, it’s finally happening. The big question is—will it be as hyped as past cult-favorite Foamposites?

Foamposites Are Back in the Spotlight

The Foamposite franchise is having a moment again. Balenciaga recently dropped a Foamposite-inspired basketball sneaker, and during NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike’s G.T. Future sneaker had sneakerheads drawing Foamposite comparisons. With the Foamposite’s legacy making waves again, this new release could arrive at just the right time.

The Nike Air Foamposite One “Carbon Fiber” is expected to be released in Holiday 2025 at SNKRS and select Nike Sportswear stockists. Retail pricing is set at $230, and the official SKU for this pair is HF2902-002.

If you’re a Foamposite fan, this one’s definitely worth checking out! Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
