Nike Make Bold Move to Partner With SKIMS on New Sub Brand: NikeSKIMS

NikeSKIMS, a new sub-brand that will upend the sportswear market, is being introduced by Nike and SKIMS. When SKIMS was named the NBA and WNBA’s official knickers partner in 2023, the commotion began. Now, with performance wear, SKIMS is making a major splash.

Since taking over as Nike’s CEO, Elliott Hill has been focused on bringing the brand back to its roots: athletes. His message is simple—“If you have a body, you’re an athlete.” That means creating gear that’s all about performance while being inclusive for everyone.

By signing athletes like Caitlin Clark, Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson, and Sha’Carri Richardson—all of whom exemplify the brand’s new “So Win” philosophy—Nike has also been highlighting female athletes. Expect a new sportswear concept that combines innovation, style, and usefulness like never before with NikeSKIMS in the horizon.

NikeSKIMS is a daring move that puts Nike in a position to take on Lululemon in the women’s sportswear market. Sales of clothing reached $13 billion in 2024, although growth has been stagnant. This new collaboration might be just what they need to shake things up.

What, therefore, is unique about NikeSKIMS? It combines SKIMS’ knowledge of fit, comfort, and confidence with Nike’s state-of-the-art technology, research, and innovation. The outcome? a line of performance-enhancing and attractive training clothes, shoes and accessories for female athletes throughout the world. NikeSKIMS will function as a separate company within Nike, much to Jordan Brand.

Kim Kardashian summed it up perfectly:
“Nike and SKIMS share a deep commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and pushing boundaries. Every single detail has been obsessed over to create pieces that sculpt and perform for every body.”

What effect does this announcement have? Overnight, Nike’s shares increased 6.2%, boosting its market worth by an astounding $6.7 billion.

This spring (March–June), the first NikeSKIMS collection will be released in the United States; a global launch is scheduled for 2026. Prepare yourself this is only the beginning.
